Instruction with Lachlan Nairn
Lachlan is a graduate of the Golf Academy of America and has worked in various capacities throughout his seventeen years in the golf business. Those years are just a small portion of his overall experience with the game of golf. His passion for the game was seeded right here at Blackwood Golf Course at just three years of age when “Danny”, an employee of the course, cut down his first couple clubs. Lachlan is a firm believer in the golf business going through a rather big change. That change is highlighted by the lack of time individuals have to get out and play a round of golf. He plans to focus on 9 hole play, junior camps, clinics for both ladies and beginners alike, maintaining a healthy pace of play policy and a strong presence on social media to promote golf at Blackwood.
Lachlan has studied the swing and the game for over 12 years. He worked closely with the late PGA Professional Buddy Allin, a 5 time PGA Tour winner, to develop his own game. He also has experience playing on the West Florida Golf Tour. Over the last few years however, Lachlan has deviated from the traditional methodologies of teaching and has developed his own unique style. He views the game as a balance of both art and sport. He finds that players tend to fall in one of two categories, “Feel & Mechanical” and that they should be approached differently in how they are taught. Lachlan has both the expertise to fine tune the mechanical player and the creativity to open doors for the feel player.
